Factbox: Disaster Relief and Declarations for New York, Pennsylvania (ContributorNetwork)

Disaster relief efforts continue for areas of the northeast strongly affected by the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee. Both New York and Pennsylvania suffered massive flooding along the Susquehanna River, causing massive evacuations, power outages, and the losses of homes.

Here are the latest facts about the disaster relief efforts.

* Pennsylvania and New York both received looked for disaster declarations from the White House on Tuesday. The pair of declarations makes federal funding available for residents affected in 19 counties in Pennsylvania and 5 in New York. Assistance also includes low-cost loans for the uninsured with property losses, temporary housing and home repairs, and other programs.

* Separately, the White House also issued a disaster declaration for Maine on Tuesday. That declaration was intended to supplement state and local efforts in Franklin, Oxford, and York counties due to Tropical Storm Irene damage from August 27 through 29. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will coordinate federal recovery operations in all affected areas in the three states.

* Broadcasters in Binghamton are performing a special flood relief effort in nearby Vestal. The Local Broadcasters Flood Relief 2011 telethon will work to raise funds for disaster relief and to distribute relief information to the affected. Among those participating are Channels WBNG, WICZ, WIVT, and WSKG and WSQX Radio.

* WGAL Channel 8 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is Manheim Borough suffered the worst of the damage in Lancaster County from the flooding, followed by Ephrata, Marietta, and West Earl Township. 57 buildings were destroyed and 43 buildings suffered major damage. Further damage occurred in 1,161 homes. The historic Siegrist Mill Covered Bridge was washed away in the flooding as well, and its remains were found on Siegrist Road.

* A disaster recovery center has been opened by FEMA in Harrisburg at the upper level of The Harrisburg Mall. It's open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. WHTM Channel 27 also reports that online registry is available at DisasterAssistance.gov or at m.fema.gov for mobile devices.

* WBRE-TV in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania indicates that FEMA has opened seven recovery centers. They include the Tunkhannock School Administration Building in Wyoming County, Luzerne County Community College, Towanda Fire Department in Bradford County, 740 Fairfield Road in Lycoming County, the Agricultural Center on Sawmill Road for Columbia County, and Loyalsock State Forest District Office in Sullivan County.

* Some roads in Lycoming County have been washed away. Slabtown Bridge and Wallis Run are down, with Wallis Road now leading into Loyalsock Creek.
